2020/2021 Season Update

Here at Heavitree Youth FC we hope you are all safe and healthy.
Although we are back in lockdown we are all staying fit and remain confident that the season will be back underway soon.

The season has now in full flow for all age groups and it’s been a mixed bag of results but the standard of the football is getting better with every kick.

Under 16s

The under 16s season kicked off with their county cup final from last season which they unfortunately lost. However they represented Heavitree in a very professional manner and all at the club are proud of their achievements. This was their 3rd final in as many seasons.
Their league season kicked off with a narrow 2-1 loss to a very strong Alphington side, but they then came out on top away to Feniton with a 2-1 victory in their 2nd game. They currently sit 4th in the Under 16’s Division 1.

Under 14s

The Under 14s Blacks who ply their trade in Division 1 have fallen to defeats in their first two games. Despite this they remain optimistic that results will come and the team have started to gel really well.

Under 14s Reds in Division 3 have only managed the one game so far due to Covid and the weather. They lost this to a very strong Avishayes Combe Youth side, who will be around the top come the end of the season.

Under 13s

In Division 2 of the Under 13s the Heavitree Eagles despite losing their first game of the season to title contenders Exmouth, bounced back and picked up victories in their 2nd and 3rd games against Central and Lympstone respectively. They currently sit 4th in the league.

The Hawks who play in division 3 kicked off their season with a 14-0 win at home to Lyme Regis. Following this they have unfortunately fallen to back to back defeats by the odd goal to Feniton and Sidmouth but are ready to bounce back and pick up the results.

Under 12s

The Hurricanes representing Heavitree in the Under 12s Division 2 have managed to get an impressive 4 matches in so far this season and despite losing 3 and drawing 1 have shown real promise. Their defeats have come at the hands of the always strong Panthers and Twyford Spartans so plenty of points left to pick up.

Under 11s

The Under 11s ironically started off their season with matches against each other. In what was a well fought contest it was the Pumas that came out on top with a 2-0 victory over the Lions.
Despite an opening day defeat The Lions went on to claim victory in their 2nd game.

Under 10s

In the Under 10s the Lightning team had an excellent pre-season picking up 13 victories and 2 draws and just the 2 defeats. They looked to take this form into their league games and started their campaign with a narrow 2-0 victory over a much improved Okehampton side. The Thunder team who have performed excellently through pre-season were on the end of a 4-0 defeat to Okehampton in their first game.

Under 9s

Under 9s Hornets and Harriers have enjoyed a very successful pre-season and excellent start to the regular season with victories in their opening games. They have built a couple of very strong teams and are looking to push forward and continue all the hard work throughout the season.
